OUR STORY

About

Mehran, you are a beautiful angel among us, and your memory remains in our hearts forever.

Not until you've lost a child do you know how it feels to be sad every single day... even when you experience joy.

Time, Yes, that time when it is treated for many aches and pains, it is a remedy for forgetfulness, but it is only one side of the coin, because sometimes the wheel of time turns us down, which is not in our favor.

Matin and Mizhdah Hamid are one of those parents who experienced the bitter side of the wheel of time in this life.  Trying to build a life to fight.  They lived a quiet loving life with their two sons, both healthy and well.

Days passed, months passed, little Mehran, their second child, was about to be three years old.  They had no idea that the hard side of the wheel was about to come.  In August 2014, when Mehran was drinking milk, he became nauseous and was in a bad mood.  It’s hard to watch your dearest in this state and you don’t know why it wasn’t long before the color jumped from the innocent face of his child and his lips bruised, his smile faded, and he lost consciousness,

This condition lasted for a few weeks.

Many times, with eyes and hope, worry, and apprehension, they went to the emergency department of the hospital and did not hear an answer except that your son had no problem.

He later developed symptoms of epilepsy, and his parents went to any possible hospital for treatment of their young child, and the little angel used any medicine for the disease.

Days passed, but the parents still hoped that their son would recover and did not give up.

They often asked questions?

Why him?

Why did he have pain at this age?

Her pure heart had become the bedrock of the disease, and by the end of 2015, her small legs were swollen, and he could no longer walk.  He needed a better hand to hold on tight.

But Mehran was now four years old, a colorful age which he couldn’t benefit of.  He did not have a great childhood and was always in pain.

It has been tested many times in all major hospitals in Belgium, even beyond borders: Germany, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Iraq, Pakistan and India whit no positive result.

Mehran became five years, but the situation remained unchanged.

In during of 4 and half years Mehran was totally a bed sleeper patient, he was independent in his all self-caring.

Their parents tried hard and they never gave up for caring Mehran. They always cared for Mehran as a flower that need everyday water because they hoped that one day, he will be healthy again.

Before long, the darkest day had arrived, and Mehran closed his small eyes in 2019 and said goodbye to this world. The eyes of his loved ones were alienated from sleep.

Why should children always bear the guilt of adults?

These are all Mehran’s morbid answers; Because Mehran had no pain but a genetic problem.

...And one day, everything changed...my whole world upside down, my heart broken in pieces on the ground...my precious boy was taken from me...so suddenly & so tragically...just one day

The neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCLs)

It is one of the most serious and dangerous diseases that is caused by a disorder in chromosome 11 and occurs in the middle of the age of three.

What is this disease in children’s bodies and what causes it?

From which area do children with the disease suffer?

These questions remain in my mind for years.

It’s hard to say, but little angels live only a decade, and all this time they are in pain, such as mental disorders, sleep, physical activity, even vision problems, and respiratory and lung disorders.

I mentioned at the beginning that it is us who are hurting our generations.

It’s true that we choose, but let’s make it customary to take pre-marital blood test among young people so that no parent will see the pain of losing a child and no innocent angel suffer.

Our children are not only our future, but also the hope for the future of a healthy society.

I am writing to make it public, so that this can be read and known that we all have a responsibility.

Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world. So, let’s gift this opportunity to our children.
